A Safer. Stronger. More Accountable Brampton.
Amir Khawaja Hassan — a father of four, an accountant, and a former federal public servant — is running for Brampton City Council to bring responsible spending, safer communities, and real accountability to every tax dollar.
2026 Brampton Municipal Election · Monday, October 26, 2026
About Amir
I came to Canada in 1997 with hope, determination, and a belief in the opportunities this country offers to those willing to work hard and contribute. Over the years, Canada became not only my home, but the place where I built my career, raised my family, and became deeply connected to the community I call home.
Experience & Service
I am a father of four, an accountant and business owner, and a former federal public servant who served Canadians through three federal departments. I hold two Master's degrees and have built my professional life around responsibility, financial accountability, and serving people.
Today, I operate my own accounting practices in Brampton and Mississauga, helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate their financial responsibilities and build stronger futures. My work has taught me something important: people want to be heard, treated fairly, and given honest answers — not broken promises.
"People want to be heard, treated fairly, and given honest answers — not broken promises."
Why I'm Running
As a father, I think about the Brampton we leave for our children. As an accountant, I understand the importance of living within a budget. As a former federal public servant, I understand the responsibility that comes with serving the public. And as a Brampton business owner, I understand the challenges facing families, workers, entrepreneurs, and local businesses.
My promise is simple: I will listen, I will work, and I will be accountable.

My Commitments to Brampton
As an accountant, I believe every commitment should be itemized, tracked, and delivered — not just promised. Here is what I am running on for Wards 2 & 6.
Integrity in Leadership
Honest, transparent decision-making at City Hall, with no hidden agendas.
Responsible Spending
A budget-first approach to city finances, applying real accounting discipline to public funds.
Safer Communities
Working with residents and city services so families feel secure in their own neighbourhoods.
Stronger Schools
Advocating for the resources and infrastructure Brampton's students and families deserve.
Better Infrastructure
Investment that keeps pace with Brampton's growth — roads, transit, and community spaces.
Improved Services
City services that are responsive, accessible, and built around residents' actual needs.
Accountability for Every Tax Dollar
Clear reporting on how public money is spent, and why.
Lower Taxes Through Responsible Spending
Working to control unnecessary spending, improve budget transparency, seek efficiencies, and protect Brampton taxpayers from avoidable costs.
Public office should be about service, not status — responsibility, not excuses — and results, not rhetoric.
